Vision of the Civil Engineering International Undergraduate Program

To realize an excellent and innovative academic community in applying civil engineering knowledge and skills with a disaster-awareness perspective, through an educational system grounded in Islamic values and recognized globally.

Mission of the Civil Engineering International Undergraduate Program

To provide a strong foundation of understanding, appreciation, and implementation of Islamic principles.
To deliver an undergraduate education in civil engineering that emphasizes disaster risk awareness within an Islamic academic environment.
To organize a high-quality and globally reputable civil engineering education that nurtures Muslim scholars and future leaders with noble character.
To continuously enhance the quality of undergraduate education through sustainable improvement efforts.

Objectives of the Civil Engineering International Undergraduate Program

To develop an academic community with strong moral and ethical values.
To produce Civil Engineering graduates who are able to design, implement, and supervise engineering projects with A.T.R.A.K.T.I.F attributes (Trustworthy, Skillful, Competent, Adaptive, Innovative), equipped with disaster risk management awareness, leadership capabilities, and a global orientation.
To create a supportive academic atmosphere that encourages the continuous development of scientific works contributing to the advancement and application of science and technology.

Civil Engineering Areas of Expertise

To strengthen graduates’ competencies, students can choose from the following areas of expertise:

This expertise area focuses on the analysis, planning, and design of buildings resistant to earthquake hazards. Students learn methods and techniques required for structural design by considering essential factors such as structural mechanics, construction materials, load analysis, and external forces—ensuring safe and resilient buildings against seismic risks. Structural and Earthquake Engineering This concentration covers transportation planning, design, and management of transport infrastructure. Students explore traffic engineering, road geometric design, and the relationship between transportation and urban spaces, geography, economics, law, and the environment—supporting sustainable and efficient mobility systems. Transportation Engineering This field emphasizes the understanding of soil behavior and fundamental geotechnical engineering in planning and constructing infrastructure. Students learn how soil conditions influence design decisions and how to identify and mitigate geotechnical hazards such as slope instability, settlement, and ground failure. Geotechnical Engineering This area discusses the principles and practices of construction project management, covering planning, execution, and control of construction projects to achieve cost, time, and quality objectives. Students also explore the role of construction technology, including the implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM), digital project control, and professional management skills for dynamic global challenges in the construction industry. Construction Management This specialization focuses on hydrology and water resources engineering, including water structure design, hydraulic systems, and watershed management. Learning topics include flood control, irrigation, water supply, hydrometeorology, and disaster mitigation.
